Transfusions Week

We can guess we're in the middle of the chemo cycle even without counting the days.  She is having a tough time holding onto red cells and platelets. We came in on Tuesday and again today for red cells and platelets.  She is not getting much of a bump from the transfusions, so on Tuesday they took some blood tests to see if her body was developing  antibodies to the platelets.  They say that trends to happen, the more transfusions you get. They might have to change the recipe for the ones they give her so they can be more effective.

Dr. Mitchell told us at clinic on Tuesday that they are thinking of taking another bone marrow biopsy before  the beginning of the next chemo cycle to see the effectiveness of the chemo she had been getting. They are hopefully still working.

We got here this morning at 8:15. She's wanting to be done in time to make a lunch appointment........who would have thunk it?

Diane is very thankful for any well wishes, even if she is not able to respond to all of them.
