Final chemo this series, transfusions

Today was the last of five IV chemo treatments for this series.  It has been hard on platelets.  She got them today and about the time we got home they called and said she would have to come back no later than Sunday for more. She also got red blood transfusion today.

For the next sixteen days she will be taking the oral chemo and then get seven days off for this cycle. In the past the IV chemo has made her very tired but she has been able to tolerate the oral chemo pretty well. We hope they are controlling  the disease.  We likely won't know how well they are working until the end of the next cycle which will begin in another twenty four days.

We have been teasing her that even the mosquitos don't bother her much now.  The ones that do likely get a lethal dose of poison. We heard of one young patient who was allergic to the chemo treatments and so they gave her arsenic---controlled to kill her disease. The things they do..... Do you suppose that's why they call it a practise?

Diane is very thankful for any well wishes, even if she is not able to respond to all of them.
