Dacogen day 5 - half way, red cells transfusion

Today's chemo marks the half way point of the ten infusions in this series. She has been pretty tired.  She says the Dacogen has kicked her behind. They said she would maybe feel more tired on this drug than the Vidaza and so far they have been right.

They also said this chemo would  tend  to lower her numbers a little more.  This seems to be true also.  Today her red cell count was down far enough that she needed two units of blood. So today will end up being a long day at the hospital.  We got here about eleven and we won't leave until around four.

The transfusion will be a benefit to her energy level as well as life sustaining.  We are so grateful there are those of you who donate blood, since from our view, here at the bone marrow clinic, the need is great. We really have lost count as to how many pints she had received in the last seven months.

This is s long hall (haul)!

Diane is very thankful for any well wishes, even if she is not able to respond to all of them.
