Prayers, Decisions and Blessings

Today, we had blood tests and met with Dr. Mitchell.  Pathology reports came back and they confirmed the test results as accurate.  In fact, they did deeper tests on the previous bone marrow samples, something to do with "staining" the samples and it was revealed that her numbers then and now were NOT as good as the standard  tests had indicated and that likely a transplant would NOT have had good results and that she would have been put under considerable difficult  treatment without benefit of favorable outcome.

It seems that the Lord has answered our prayers and fasting in a totally different way than we had expected in order to prevent a greater difficultly. This has truly been a testimony of how our Heavenly Father knows our desires and gives us the best answers in spite of ourselves!

So we're going to begin a new chemo when the insurance clears, probably Friday. Signed papers for a continued outpatient treatment aimed at controlling the MDS. This treatment will consist of 10 days of IV chemo and 20 days off. On the ongoing successive sessions it may also be combined with an oral chemo. She'll continue to have transfusions All of this would be on an outpatient basis. This could result in a transplant down the road or maybe not. It could be a quality versus quantity situation. It may just be a way to keep the MDS in check. We feel good about it, the decision was clear and our hearts are calm. She will also be able to go to our family Bear Lake trip. She can go back to church, if she's careful. She still has to be careful, you know the six foot rule: no hugs,  no hand shaking, no illness close by, type of thing.  Her PICC line will be removed and they will surgically place an under the skin port near her neck.  She feels she can live with all this.

Thanks for your support, fasting and prayers, and well wishes. We love you and are grateful for your friendship. God bless!

Diane is very thankful for any well wishes, even if she is not able to respond to all of them.
