1st miracle
... Well, we met with 4 different doctors today had blood tests and got the meds. Dr Webb, the infectious disease doctor, said he had to be real candid with us for a moment. He said that the infection that she got that was a fungus was a rare occurrence and nearly always only happens in people with very compromised immune systems. He also said that it was a yeast and that most of the time that particular infection, before it can get controlled in someone with an immune system that is severely compromised, nearly always turns out to be fatal! We were shocked!
You can imagine Diane's reaction, and I had tears in my eyes too. The doctor, in fact, called it nothing less than a "miracle". He said the miracle came in that it wasn't fatal and had left her bloodstream so quickly, sufficiently with the proper medication, to reduce the risk of death, he was totally impressed, and that she had such good numbers immediately following. He also said that it is very difficult to get it out of the system completely, so she has to be on this Pozaconazole for sometimes several months or longer. This is the second time a doctor has used the word "miracle" about Diane's illness.
2nd miracle
It looks like we're going to get the Pozaconazole ($7000.00/month) at no cost. We got a phone call from the ACT Program case administrator to verify the application information and get the shipping information. Diane qualifies for 30 day supplies each month through Dec 31, 2015.
We feel like we have been so blessed by our Father in Heaven. Your prayers and faith are working in our behalf and true miracles have taken place. We hope you feel the same.
