Incarceration not planned

Yesterday we came to the hospital for the family conference with the doctor to explain the transplant procedure and schedule. Following the visit with the doctor & the caseworker, we met with the lead nurse about procedures on the transplant floor and the pharmacist to discuss those issues.

Late last night while watching a movie with our oldest granddaughter, Lauren, Dianne started to get the chills and so it got bad enough that we took her temperature and it was nearly a hundred and four. She was really hot on the skin to touch. We called the triage at the bone marrow unit and they advised us to come right to the hospital, which we did.  They admitted her to a room, talked with doctor, administered antibiotics, fluids, took her vitals ran some blood test and blood cultures. Nothing showed up in the blood test which would be unusual and the cultures take at least 48 hours for results to come back. The fever broke about 2 am.
She will likely be here at least until Sunday so they can see if anything is brewing and stop it if there is, before she begins the transplant process on Tuesday.

Diane is very thankful for any well wishes, even if she is not able to respond to all of them.
